2024 TROPICAL 7s WRAPS UP WITH 18 NEW CHAMPIONS!

The 2024 TROPICAL 7s tournament came to a thrilling conclusion with teams from across the US and from around the globe competing across a range of divisions and age grades. From youth to senior levels, the competition took place under glorious blue Florida skies and the following teams emerged as 2024 champions


In the U18 Boys Elite division, the Oakville Crusaders from Ontario, Canada claimed the top spot, defeating a number of highly fancied academies along the way while in the U18 Girls Elite category, The Rugby Advantage 'Black' emerged victorious with both teams claiming their first Tropical 7s U18 titles in the elite division.


In the U18 Boys Open division, Rugby Idah’s select side TOA Rugby ran out as the champions, while North Carolina Youth Rugby Union (NCYRU) claimed the title in the U18 Girls Open category with both divisions each featuring a massive 24 teams. Oceanside Collegiate Academy from South Carolina stood out in the U18 Girls Development division, included for the first time at the tournament as a division for relatively new rugby programs


Moving on to the younger age groups, the Charlotte Cardinals from North Carolina took home the title in the U16 Boys Elite division, while USA Rugby South Panther Academy emerged victorious in the U16 Girls Elite category which included several players from their 2023 winning side in the U14 age group. Atlantis and Rugby Quebec (CAN) claimed the top spots in the U16 Boys Open and U16 Girls Open divisions respectively. In the U14 divisions, Sunny Coast Crocs from Queensland, Australia triumphed in the Boys Open category, while USA Rugby South Panther Academy retained their 2023 title in the Girls Open category. Gorilla Rugby emerged victorious in the U12 Coed division.


At the U23 level, Wheeling University emerged as champions in the Men's Elite division while Harvard University went one better from last year to claim the U23 Women’s Elite trophy. USA Rugby South Panther Academy and Lander University claimed victory in the Men's and Women's Open divisions.


The last of the finals were played out by the newly added senior divisions where the Columbus Crewmen and MacDowell Rugby (CAN) ran out as champions in the Men's and Women's categories respectively concluding a hugely successful 2024 tournament.
