Following on from the success of the 2022 Tropical 7s, the 2023 tournament expands to 15 divisions (up from 11 divisions in 2022) with both 'elite' and 'open' divisions added at U23 Mens & Womens, U16 Boys and U14 boys age grades. The U12 'coed' division returns following its successful introduction at the 2022 Tropical 7s in April.
Demand for the 2023 Tropical 7s is expected to be high following the sellout of the 2022 event with the expected return of more international teams to the tournament. Findings from the post-2022 event survey revealed that 4 out of 5 team managers were either 'certain' or 'very likely' to return with their teams in 2023.
The Tropical 7s is open to youth teams from around the globe including schools, clubs, universities, academies, representative teams and invitational sides. As travel restrictions around the world continue to ease, more international teams will be returning to the Tropical 7s next Easter.
The tournament returns to the the Tampa Sportsplex, a purpose-built tournament facility completed in 2018 consisting of 15 professionally maintained full-size pitches, each with its own LED lighting and live stream capability. The venue will undergo a number of enhancements before next year's tournament including additional vendor areas, improved parking access and upgrades to the livestream capability. The impressive facility allow the Tropical 7s to continue to expand and grow as one of the world’s most prestigious youth rugby tournaments.
Discounted rates with over 15 tournament hotels in the Tampa area and within close proximity to the tournament venue are available and can be booked directly via the tournament registration platform. Teams can book their accommodation once they have registered for the tournament - further details can be found on the Tropical 7s Accommodation information page.
